For photographers

Group shots start on time when everyone can see the timeline.

You have lost the same forty minutes at every wedding you have ever shot. Not to bad planning, to twelve people who were outside when the group shots were called and one uncle who went back to the car.

What changes

The running order stops being a secret.

The timeline sits on every guest's phone. When you say group shots at four, the guests know group shots are at four, and they know it an hour before rather than when someone starts shouting across a lawn.

If you run over, the couple or the coordinator changes one number and everyone sees it. You are not the one chasing people.

The awkward bit, addressed

The photo wall does not compete with you

Guest phone snaps and your work are not the same product and nobody has ever confused them. What the wall actually does is give guests somewhere to put their photos other than tagging the couple in a hundred and forty of them, which keeps the demand for your gallery where it belongs.

Your gallery link goes on the app when it is ready, in front of every guest at the wedding.

Commercially

10% if you want it.

Mention it to couples who are clearly drowning in the admin, and take 10% of anything that books. If you would rather not take a commission, mention it anyway, or don't. There is no agreement to sign and nothing to list.

Happy to build one free for a wedding you are shooting this season so you can see whether it actually saves you the forty minutes.
